A specialist school in Gateshead is looking to appoint a Level 2 BSL Teaching Assistant to support pupils with hearing impairments and communication needs from September.

Your Role

• Use British Sign Language to facilitate communication in lessons
• Support pupils academically, socially and emotionally
• Provide tailored support on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual needs
