Job Description
Learning Support Assistant
Location: Dearne Valley Campus, Rotherham
Salary: £24,930 FTE (Pro-rata £11,350.66) per annum
Vacancy Type: Permanent position, start date Monday 24th August 2026
Hours: Part time (20 hours per week for 37 weeks term time plus 1 training week)
Responsibilities
- Provide in‑class and out‑of‑class support to assist students with learning difficulties/disabilities.
- Support with personal care and/or literacy and numeracy.
- Assist in the planning, preparation and reviewing of learning in conjunction with relevant curriculum staff.
- Provide feedback and carry out reviews to ensure students are making expected progress and working towards outcomes.
- Manage challenging behaviour and help students develop their own coping strategies.
