Laboratory Technician for Physics Education

Join Lakehead University as a Laboratory Technician, supporting physics education and lab management. This role combines technical skills with a passion for innovation in teaching.
You will be responsible for maintaining lab equipment, setting up experiments, and executing instructional support with the Chair of Physics. Additionally, you will guide teaching assistants, manage lab supplies, and assist in recruitment efforts by showcasing physics to prospective students. Engage proactively with faculty to enhance lab operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Directly manage teaching assistants and their evaluations
• Prepare labs for student experiments and ensure safety
• Order and maintain laboratory supplies and chemicals
• Support physics demonstrations for recruitment events
• Perform repairs and maintenance of lab instruments
Requirements:
• BSc or diploma in Physics or Engineering discipline
