Laboratory Specialist I

The APL Flow Cytometry Department at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Center has an opportunity for a Laboratory Specialist-1. Under the direction of the Lab Director, Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Technologist II, Supervisor or Manager, this position is responsible for performing a variety of duties including, but not limited to, conducting specialized laboratory procedures, specimen analysis, result entry and report verification. Performs, reports and records complex, routine and specialized diagnostic procedures, tests, and examinations in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures to ensure a high quality, accurate, and timely result. Identify possible alternative approaches to standard methods to provide correct results when necessary. Reports unusual test findings and results to senior staff.
