The Person:
The following applicant must hold a recognised journalistic qualification, with a shorthand qualification being preferable. It is essential that the candidate has a full driving licence with access to transport. The candidate should possess strong news instincts, excellent writing skills for news/features, and have the ability to work independently in order to meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of local government, community issues, and courts, in conjunction with an in-depth knowledge of the Ards and North Down area would be advantageous. Good communication and personal skills for dealing with the public are vital. Experience in photography and developing social media content would be desirable.
