Summary About the Position: The incumbent serves in the Fires and Effects Branch (J356), Future Operations Division (J35), J3 Operations Directorate, U.S. Africa Command. As a Joint Fires and Effects Specialist, the incumbent integrates and synchronizes fires and targeting to support USAFRICOM operational objectives. Duties include contributing to planning and execution through the Joint Operation Planning Process in accordance with JP 5-0. Responsibilities Participate in all relevant USAFRICOM boards/centers/cells/working groups in the conduct of planning for crisis and contingency operations. Contribute to cross-directorate teams that are responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing USAFRICOM activities and limited contingency response (LCR) operations.
