Responsibilities
Protects public health, safety, private property and investment by inspecting installations, repairs, alterations, construction or demolition of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with construction codes. These inspections range from single family residences to high rise office buildings, schools, hospitals and manufacturing plants. Must use communication skills with contractors, violators and complainants to achieve code compliance; and if necessary, serve as an expert witness for prosecution of code violators.
