Job Description
This position will be supporting the Maternal Fetal Medicine department.
Job Summary
Under the direction of clinical geneticists (MD/DO) and /or certified genetic counselors (CGC), the genetic counselor assistant (GCA)will be responsible for supporting the counseling, testing, and diagnosis provided by the clinic. The GCA will interview patients anddocument personal and family medical history prior to patient visit, coordinate joint visits with the CGCs, MD/DO, RDs and otherancillary staff, obtain testing authorization and approval, prepare samples for transportation to laboratories, facilitate follow up with referring healthcare providers and laboratory personnel and other patient preparation and followup tasks to support the clinic staff.
