Gardener

Overview

The role of a Support Services Gardener is to provide grounds maintenance and gardening services, maintaining grounds, roads, and paths within all property of the organisation in order that they are kept in a safe and presentable condition, and will also contribute to the maintenance of the building fabric within the organisation.

Main duties of the job

• Ensure a clean external environment for patient care in accordance with health, safety and compliance requirements and NHS Property Services policies and procedures.
• Trim hedges, move lawns, weeding paved surfaces and garden beds, prune, plant, sew seeds, litter pick, cut grass, spray weed killing, sweep roads, clear road gullies, clear leaves, improve landscaping, clear winter snow and ice, gritting of roads and footpaths, transporting materials and green waste.
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
