Full-Time English Teacher (Long term substitute)

Position Summary

Saint John's School, a Toddler to 12-grade co-ed secular school, seeks a qualified and experienced full-time English teacher to serve as a long-term substitute, effective the first week of August 2026 through November 06, 2026. The position includes teaching English Language Arts 7th & 8th. The teacher will ensure instructional continuity through thoughtful planning, effective assessment practices, and clear communication with students, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Education, or a related field strongly preferred· Teaching experience, preferably in an independent school setting· Strong understanding of literary genres, composition, grammar, and rhetoric.· Strong written and verbal communication skills· Ability to design and implement Common Core standards-based lesson plans.
