Job Description

Summary This position is located in the Trails Maintenance Branch within the Facility Management Division of Olympic National Park. The duty station is in Port Angeles, Washington, with most work performed throughout the Park, in both front and backcountry settings. This position requires frequent overnight backcountry stays. This position performs sub-journeyman level maintenance, repair, and construction of Park trails. This position is required to wear a National Park Service uniform. Responsibilities The major duties of the Maintenance Worker Leader (Trails) position include, but are not limited to: Field crew leader for trail maintenance, repair, and construction projects. Plans for and leads wilderness trail crews conducting trail log outs, bridge installation, rigging operations, and sustainable trail re-routes.
