About the Opportunity

The District of Lake Country’s Lake Country Fire Department has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full‑time Fire and Rescue Technician (Firefighter & Driver-Operator) based in Lake Country, BC. This position’s work hours are based on an average 42‑hour work week, which may include day or night shifts on weekdays, weekends and/or statutory holidays. Under the direction of the Fire Chief or designate(s), the Fire Rescue Technician works as a key member of their assigned team when responding to emergency incidents, non‑emergency incidents, and public safety complaints as part of the composite firefighting force.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical services to key fire department program areas, such as:
    • Maintaining fire apparatus;
    • Maintaining fire equipment;
    • Maintaining fire facilities;
