Field Research Assistant — Endangered Dotterel, Stewart Isl.

Department of Conservation on Rakiura Stewart Island seeks a Research Assistant for a hands-on conservation role from 21 September 2026 to 15 January 2027. You will conduct critical field work on the Critically Endangered Pukunui/Southern New Zealand Dotterel during the breeding season.

Based on Rakiura Stewart Island, you will stay in huts/campsites in exposed sub-alpine locations with a 10 days on, 4 days off rota; ferry travel is provided for rostered shifts.
