Environmental Manager

Responsibilities

• On behalf of the plant, obtain necessary permits and approvals, prepare environmental reports, coordinate monitoring and testing of wastewater discharges, air emissions and waste streams. Main contact for environmental agencies such as the Ministry of the Environment, Environment Canada, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Ministry of Natural Resources.
• Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and corporate requirements.
• Approve short- and long-term programs in collaboration with engineering staff for the production department. Review production, quality control, logistics, maintenance and mining reports and statistics to plan and modify production activities. Manage the department’s key performance indicators.
