Engineering Technologist (Hydro)

Primary Duties

The Engineering Technologist will prepare designs, plans and cost estimates for electric distribution system projects. As an Engineering Technologist you will be responsible for new customer connections (residential, commercial, and industrial), capital projects, DER and EVSE applications in support of a safe and reliable distribution system and its expansion to meet city load growth and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Review development proposals and site plan applications and provide information about the process and requirements for connecting to the distribution system.
2. Plan, estimate, document and design expansion and asset replacement construction projects for overhead and underground distribution system.
3. Prepare technical reports including but not limited to voltage drop calculations, pole loading analysis, line tensions, and cable pulling calculations.
