Core Functions

As provided for in the Police Act, the Investigator is responsible for the investigations assigned to him by his Supervisor, such as the investigation in an event of a major accident, violation or crime on the assigned communities’ territory. The Investigator will use various types of equipment and techniques to develop, secure and package physical evidence from the crime scene. The Investigator will also meet, obtain facts or statements from complainants, witnesses and accused persons, and proceed with the arrest and the interrogation of the suspects. The Investigator is responsible for producing a summary of incidents, solving crimes and recommending judiciary action.
