Third-cycle subject: Computer Science
This PhD project will develop computing techniques, with a focus on middleware for parallel applications, including quantum computing applications and/or machine learning applications, in distributed computing environments. The work will range from algorithmic development of orchestration and scheduling techniques, through design and implementation of system software and runtime systems for heterogeneous HPC platforms, to experimental evaluation on realistic workloads. The PhD student will work in an interdisciplinary environment at the interface between computer system, systems software research and computational science, with access to high-performance computing clusters, cloud platforms and quantum computers.
