Overview
The Smart Photonic Materials (SPM) research group at Tampere University is seeking a doctoral researcher for PhD studies on developing novel photochemistry systems for light-triggered hydrogel systems. The project involves designing, synthesizing, and characterizing low-energy-light-activated photochemical systems for hydrogel crosslinking, with applications in 3D bioprinting, drug-eluting implants, and on-demand drug release. The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, publish research results, and may have opportunities for international research mobility. The position is for four years starting September 2026, with a salary around 3000 EUR/month, including benefits such as occupational health care and flexible work arrangements.
