Summary This position is located in the Office of the Secretary, Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology in Washington, DC. This position has two major roles, one as the US DOT Statistical Officer and second as the Director, Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Responsibilities The Director has two roles: USDOT Statistical Official (SO): Pursuant to the Evidence Act under 5 USC § 314(a), the incumbent serves as USDOT Statistical Official, responsible for directing and coordinating statistical policy for the Department, overseeing the development of the Department data quality standards and confidentiality standards to safeguard sensitive information, and advising the Department on the validity of statistical techniques and conclusions.
