Design & Technology Technician (Resistant Materials)

Job Purpose

The Design & Technology Technician (Resistant Materials) supports the safe, effective and efficient delivery of practical learning within the Design & Technology department, primarily focusing on Resistant Materials, Product Design and workshop-based activities.

Key Responsibilities

Workshop Preparation and Technical Support

• Prepare workshops, machinery, tools, materials and resources for lessons and practical activities.
• Prepare timber, plastics, metals and other materials for student projects.
• Set out equipment, consumables and PPE required for lessons.
• Organise, store and manage student work, project materials and departmental resources.
• Support coursework, assessments, exhibitions and moderation activities.
• Prepare CAD/CAM files and materials for laser cutting, CNC routing and 3D printing.
