Job Description
Contribute to family well-being as a culturally-informed Indigenous Doula. Work part-time to empower mothers with support and education during the crucial fourth trimester.
You will actively engage with Indigenous families, offering trauma-informed care and support tailored to their needs. Your unique perspective and life experience will enrich the assistance provided in home environments after childbirth. This role focuses on practical tasks and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure culturally safe support for Indigenous mothers
• Assist mothers with emotional, physical, and educational needs
• Monitor and support newborn care and family adjustment
• Organize practical tasks like meal preparation and errands
• Stay updated on childbirth support techniques
Requirements:
• Must identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, Inuit)
• Doula Certificate required, with BC membership
• At least 20 hours of training in relevant fields
