Job Description
Parry Sound Friendship Centre is an Indigenous-led organization dedicated to fostering healing across generations and encouraging profound pride in indigenous identity with the Muskoka and Parry Sound regions. The Cultural Resource Coordinator (CRC) is responsible for maintaining a consistent cultural framework across the Friendship Centre. The CRC delivers prevention-focused, culturally responsive support to address multigenerational trauma. By collaborating with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community partners, the CRC creates safe, affirming spaces that promote healing, wellness, and reconciliation for urban Indigenous children, families, and staff. The position coordinates and supports all aspects of cultural knowledge transfer and planning within the Friendship Centre, including but not limited to culture-based healing; cultural awareness, safety, and competency; facilitating ceremonies and teachings; and working with Elders and traditional people as needed.
