JOB PURPOSE:

• The job purpose of a Coxswain is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of a boat particularly in
• a rowing crew. This role is crucial for steering the boat coordinating the power and rhythm of the
• rowers and providing motivation and tactical guidance during races or training sessions. The
• coxswain acts as the leader and coach on the water ensuring that the crew performs at their best
• and adheres to safety protocols.

3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• 1. Safety: Always ensure the safety of the crew and the boat by steering properly and following
• maritime rules.
• 2. Coordination: Coordinate the power and rhythm of the rowers to maximize efficiency and speed.
