Consultant Microbiologist – West of Ireland
A leading hospital in the West of Ireland is seeking an experienced and motivated Consultant Microbiologist to join its multidisciplinary team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert clinical microbiology advice, infection prevention and control leadership, and antimicrobial stewardship across the hospital.
Collaborate closely with clinical teams to support the diagnosis, treatment, and management of infectious diseases and complex microbiological cases.
Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, research, and the ongoing advancement of microbiology services.
The successful candidate will be registered as a specialist in Microbiology with the Irish Medical Council and demonstrate excellent clinical, communication, and leadership skills.
