Conservation manager off reserve (level 10) - witzenberg landscape unit, paarl office

Cape Nature is looking for a Conservation Manager: Off Reserve to join the Witzenberg Landscape Unit to manage the conservation management off reserve component. This position is suited to a competent, analytical, dedicated conservationist who has extensive knowledge and experience in landscape-scale biodiversity conservation and management, compliance and enforcement and a clear understanding of Cape Nature’s legal obligations, mandate, and environmental protection.

Responsibilities Lead and ensure the implementation of the Central Region’s off reserve compliance plan. Provide advice and guidance on compliance and enforcement actions to Cape Nature staff in the Witzenberg Landscape Unit (both on and off reserve). Investigate terrestrial and freshwater biodiversity crime, including securing and executing search and seizure warrants and collecting evidence in accordance with crime-scene‑to‑court principles.
