HOME INFUSION COMPOUNDING TECHNICIAN

Description of Responsibilities

The pharmacy compounding technician assists with the compounding of sterile preparations and the assembly of patient supplies and equipment under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

Scope of Supervision

Responsibilities of the Home Infusion Compounding Technician include the following:

1.Perform sterile compounding per USP 797.

2.Follow all SOPs, USP 797, and Board of Pharmacy regulations and requirements.

3.Clean all work surfaces, equipment, floors, ceilings, and walls according to USP 797 and SOPs.

4.Maintain sterile compounding competencies.

5.Assure that all drugs prepared by the pharmacy are prepared in appropriate containers that are adequately labeled.
