Cloud ML Platform Engineer (Toronto)

Overview

At RBC Borealis you will lead the delivery of AI and ML solutions within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, working closely with engineering, product management, ML researchers, cloud teams, and advisory groups. The role drives cross‑functional execution, aligns stakeholders, and ensures the successful delivery of initiatives that create measurable value for RBC clients. You will play a key role in unlocking RBC’s full potential.

Responsibilities

API & Backend Engineering

• Design and build scalable REST/gRPC APIs with OpenAPI contracts and versioning
• Implement auth patterns (OAuth2, RBAC) and API gateway configuration (Kong, AWS API Gateway)
• Apply resilience patterns: rate limiting, retries, circuit breakers

Data Orchestration (Airflow)

• Build production‑grade Airflow DAGs with dynamic templating, custom operators, and SLA monitoring
