Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic

Purpose

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic will contribute to achieving the goals of the Maintenance Department ensuring that the team continues to foster a safe and efficient work environment, minimize downtime and ensure optimum equipment effectiveness through proactive maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of heavy‑duty mining equipment (e.g., haul trucks, loaders, bulldozers, graders, excavators, drills).
• Perform preventative maintenance as per OEM and site maintenance schedules.
• Rebuild and overhaul engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other major components.
• Follow and enforce all health, safety, and environmental regulations (including Ontario's OHSA and site‑specific safety policies).
• Participate in daily safety meetings, hazard assessments, and incident reporting.
