Job Description
Position Summary
The Cardiothoracic Surgeon provides comprehensive surgical care for patients with diseases and conditions of the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other thoracic structures. This role includes the evaluation, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and postoperative management of adult patients requiring cardiothoracic surgical intervention. The surgeon works collaboratively with cardiologists, pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Evaluate and diagnose patients with cardiothoracic conditions through medical history review, physical examination, imaging studies, and diagnostic testing.
- Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures, which may include coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair or replacement, thoracic aortic surgery, and other cardiac and thoracic operations consistent with training and experience.
