Business Senior Reporter, English Services – On‑site

Work at CBC/Radio‑Canada; temporary long‑term (fixed term) position, beginning August2026, ending July2027.

Responsibilities

• Pitch original business stories covering the economy, cost of living, trade disputes, consumer trends, and other relevant topics.
• Cover breaking news live on television, radio, digital and social media platforms.
• Prepare, research, interview and fact‑check stories for text, audio and video formats.
• Write scripts and file stories for broadcast and digital outlets.
• Develop and maintain a network of business sources and partners.
• Work collaboratively with editors, producers and vectors to sharpen headlines, copy and visual storytelling.
• Ensure stories are relevant, accessible and relatable to a diverse 30‑49 year‑old Canadian audience.
• Adhere to CBC journalistic standards, legal and ethical principles.
