Budget Technician

Summary The Budget Technician performs a wide range of clerical and technician work supporting budget analysis and administration for the Nutrition and Food Service line at the Orlando VA Medical Center. The incumbent is responsible for purchasing food, equipment, and services; providing cost accounting and budgetary statistics; and preparing reports that indicate status of funds for subsistence and supplies. Responsibilities Administers budget for several fund control points. Reviews fund requests from staff for completeness and adequacy. Exercises fund control authority and establishes internal methods of control to ensure funds are used in accordance with operating plans and regulations. Tracks expenditures and compares with budgeted, projected, and on-hand inventories.
