Boom Truck Operator

Job Description

A boom truck operator is responsible for safely operating a truck equipped with a hydraulic crane (boom) to lift, move, and position heavy materials at construction sites, industrial facilities, or delivery locations. The operator conducts pre‑operational inspections to ensure the vehicle and lifting equipment are in proper working condition, follows load charts and safety regulations, and carefully maneuvers loads to avoid accidents or damage. They coordinate with ground personnel using hand signals or communication devices, secure loads for transport, and maintain accurate records of operations and equipment usage. In addition to operating the boom truck, they may assist with basic maintenance, ensure compliance with workplace safety standards, and adapt to varying site conditions, weather, and project requirements.
