Role Overview
The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust in Hampstead has a vacancy for a Band 2 Housekeeper. The post covers the 4th floor Intensive Care Unit and the new 3rd floor EPIC unit (SHDU and PACU). The housekeeper works alone and as part of a team in the critical care environment under the direction of the Nurse in Charge or their deputy. The focus is to support the nursing team by coordinating meals and maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable and healthy environment for patients, staff and relatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead ward services such as catering, cleaning, equipment management and supplies.
- Keep wards and staff areas clean and well‑stocked.
- Serve meals and clear away afterwards.
- Clean and stock restrooms.
- Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.
- Notify managers of necessary repairs.
- Collect and dispose of refuse.
- Assist patient relatives when necessary.
