Job Description
Responsibilities
- Act as Lead ERISA & employee benefits attorney
- Advice on ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA compliance regarding HRA and plan designs
- Negotiate BAA and review benefit plan documents including HRA and gestational surrogacy
- Provide strategic advice on new product offerings, taxation, privacy, and state regulations
- Monitor regulatory developments from the DOL, IRS, and HHS
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risk
- Manage outside counsel relationships for ERISA related issues
- Contribute to legal department processes, templates, and training programs
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in good standing
- 5-8+ years of legal experience with a focus on ERISA/employee benefits law
- Demonstrated knowledge of ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, HIPAA, ACA, CAA, COBRA, and FMLA
