Job Summary

The Civil Engineering Department and the Water Engineering Research Center (WERC) in College of Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in water resources engineering with an emphasis on modeling-based hydro informatics, flood forecasting/early warning, urban flooding, radar/satellite precipitation, Artificial Intelligence, and resilient infrastructure systems. The successful candidate will be expected to lead externally funded research programs, secure sustainable research fundings, publish in high-impact journals, teach undergraduate/graduate courses, mentor students, and contribute to the WERC.


The ideal candidate is expected to demonstrate a track record of advanced hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, integrating radar/satellite precipitation, and data-driven methods to deliver actionable tools for flood resilience—such as cloud-based flood forecasting, inundation map...
