Applied Physicist: Superconducting Magnet Design

CERN seeks a highly skilled physicist to work on conceptual designs and conductor studies for superconducting detector magnets for the FCC-ee project. You will perform analytical and finite-element analyses of windings, focusing on thermal, cryogenic and mechanical aspects.

The role includes R&D support for low- and high-temperature superconductors, prototyping, testing campaigns and characterization of samples to determine superconducting and material properties. Onsite work is required.
