Overview

Yara Africa Fertilizer (Pty) Ltd has an opportunity for a Graduate Agronomist. This entry-level position is based in the Potchefstroom area of the North West Province and offers hands-on experience in fertilizer recommendations, soil management and sustainable farming under the mentorship of experienced agronomists.

Responsibilities

• Field Scouting and Data Collection: Monitoring crops for pests, weeds, and diseases, and conducting soil and water samples.
• Field Trials and Research: Assisting with the design, planting, and management of research trials, including testing new fertilizer regimes or seed varieties.
• Data Analysis: Using Microsoft Excel and agricultural software to compile and interpret trial data for technical reports.
• Client Support: Assisting experienced agronomists with grower meetings, promoting sustainable farming practices, and providing technical advice.
