The Democratic Therapeutic Community (DTC) is a specialist group‑based psychological service provided by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust for people with complex mental health needs, including those who may have a diagnosis of personality disorder. The service is available to individuals living in Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Tameside and Stockport and operates through two therapeutic communities: TASTE (Tameside and Stockport Therapeutic Environment) and The ORB (Oldham, Rochdale and Bury).
The DTC model is based on principles of democracy, shared responsibility and collaboration. Members are supported to actively participate in the community, helping themselves and others while working through relational, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
