Accounting Intern - Fall Recruitment - MD/DC/VA (Remote)

**Resp & Qualifications**

The Financial Accounting department at CareFirst manages day to day functions of the accounting cycle including account reconciliations, journal entries, account research and analysis, and the month end account close process.

**Principal Accountabilities:**

**_CareFirst runs a year-round internship program. The ideal candidate is someone who can work throughout the year up to 15-20 hours in the Spring/Fall and up to 40 hours in the summer. The start date for the internship will be in October 2026._**

+ Assist with monthly journal entry preparation by specified deadlines.
+ Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations by specified deadlines.
+ Assist with any other day-to-day tasks as assigned.

This internship will provide an opportunity to work in a professional environment and participate in a variety of functions to obtain firsthand experience relative to most organizations.
