Job Description

Job Overview
The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for up to three auxiliary Guards to join our team of professionals in the RCMP Division, Police Services Department. Reporting to the Manager, Business Support Police Services, in this unionized position you will perform custodial work involving responsibility for guarding prisoners held at the Langley Detachment.
Responsibilities
Maintain surveillance over prisoners to ensure their security and welfare and notify the officer of any unusual occurrences 
Search and inspect cells before and after prisoner occupancy 
Monitor cleaning by janitors, sweep, mop, hose and disinfect cells, and immediate areas 
Maintain a variety of files, records, and the prisoner log-book 
Assist members in processing prisoners, as required
Perform other related duties as required
